Eleventh Straight Victory for Brewers

POUGHKEEPSIE – The #40 Vassar College Women’s Tennis team continued its winning ways on Saturday with an 8-1 Liberty League victory over visiting Union. Ananya Krishnan won her 10th straight singles match and Elyse Duley won her 10th singles contest of the season.

Vassar moves to 13-3 overall on the season and a perfect 6-0 in conference play with Saturday’s win, while Union falls to 8-6 and 3-3 against Liberty League opponents.

Doubles
Vassar took each of the three doubles matches against the Garnet Chargers to open a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.

The top pair of Erin McCusker and Macey Dowd won for the third straight time and moved to 10-6 on the season with an 8-3 win.

Iris Li and Maddie Kirby were back at the second position and improved to 12-3 on the season with an 8-3 triumph for the Brewers.

Krishnan and Duley continued to dominate the third slot with their 10th straight victory on Saturday. The duo posted an 8-6 victory against the Garnet Chargers, moving to 13-2 on the season.

Singles
Krishnan pushed her singles winning streak to 10 matches and improved to 13-2 on the season with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the fourth position on Saturday.

Duley gives Vassar six players with at least 10 singles wins on the season following a 6-3, 6-2 sixth position win. Saturday’s victory moves Duley to 10-4 on the season and gives her nine straight victories.

McCusker pushed her singles record to 14-2 on Saturday following a 6-2, 6-4 win at the top position.

Li improved to 12-2 on the season following a hard fought 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 victory at the third position.

Kirby continued a strong rookie season on Saturday after posting a 6-3, 6-0 win at the fifth slot to improve to 11-5 on the season.
