ONEONTA – The State University of New York at New Paltz women’s tennis team was on the road today after last night’s suspended home match against Vassar. The Hawks played Hartwick College on the SUNY Oneonta Tennis Courts. The Hawks downed Wick 9-0. This was the first match in the last three that was not cancelled or shortened due to rain or snow.

“With some changes to our lineup we followed up some tough matches with a solid win over Hartwick. #1 doubles Onalee Batcheller & Isabel van der Veen had a solid win 8-4 followed up by #2 Tatiana Barnett & Nina Genzone winning tight doubles match 7-4 in a tie breaker. Singles pretty much went our way with a convincing display from top to bottom. Again, this spring is all about preparing for the conference championship,” said Coach Rob Bruley.
