POUGHKEEPSIE – The Bard College track and field team had seven Raptors run new personal bests at the Vassar April Twilight meet on Friday afternoon in preparation for the Liberty League Championship next week.
Not only did Bard have seven Raptors run personal bests, they also had five Raptors place top-8 in their respective events. The current Liberty League Track Performer of the Week, Jack Keelan, won his fourth consecutive 800 meter event with a time of 1:53.18.
Hawra Moochhala ran a season best and placed third in the 400 meter and fourth in the 200 meter. Oliver Pawelek and Clemente Esponilla both placed in the 1500 meter. Pawelek finished sixth with a personal best and a new school record of 4:16.17, replacing Reed Campbell’s 1500 meter time of 4:16.88. Mieke Matteson finished fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.25m.
Able Bloodgood, Elijah Flynn, and Ilyas Hotak all ran personal bests in the 1500 meter. Samantha Simon and Odille Zexter-Kaiser each ran personal bests in the 1500 meter and J’adora Lively ran a personal best in the 100 meter.
Bard will head to RPI next week for the two-day Liberty League Championship, starting on Friday.
