Marist Red Foxes Softball Sets Program Record

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist softball team set a program record with six National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Northeast Region honorees, the NFCA announced last Thursday.

Haley Ahr (first base) and Peyton Pusey (outfield) earned First Team recognition. Miah McDonald (third base), Alyssa Grupp (second base), and Maddie Pleasants (designated player) were named to the Second Team, while Kiley Myers (pitcher) was named to the Third Team.

The previous program record for All-Region honorees was five, set last season. This is the first time Marist has had two First Team All-Region selections since 2016, when Claire Oberdorf and Jayne Oberdorf were honored.

The NFCA Northeast Region also includes schools from the Atlantic 10, Coastal Athletic Association, Ivy League, and Patriot League.

Haley Ahr
First Team All-MAAC selection & MAAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Was named Second Team All-Region last year.

Hit .422 with nine home runs and 51 runs batted in while striking out just five times in 166 at bats.

Peyton Pusey
First Team All-MAAC selection.

Named Second Team All-Region last year.

Scored single-season program record 63 runs while hitting .397 with four home runs, 18 RBIs, 17 doubles, three triples, and 19 stolen bases.

Miah Mcdonald
MAAC Player of the Year and First Team All-MAAC selection.

First All-Region honor of her career.

Set program’s single-season records for home runs (20), RBIs (70), hits (77), and assists (166) while hitting .387 with 17 stolen bases.

Alyssa Grupp
First Team All-MAAC selection.

First All-Region honor of her career.
Hit .377 with 26 runs scored and 13 stolen bases while striking out just nine times in 154 at bats.

Maddie Pleasants
First Team All-MAAC selection at utility.

Second Team All-Region selection last year, when she was named MAAC Player of the Year.
Hit .343 with eight home runs and 40 RBIs with just eight strikeouts in 175 at bats.

Kiley Myers
MAAC Co-Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-MAAC selection.

Second Team All-Region selection last year.

Went 15-8 with a 2.27 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 149 strikeouts against just 29 walks in 173 innings, four shutouts, three saves, and a .236 batting average against.

Marist went 36-17 this season. The Red Foxes had their third-highest win total in program history, and won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season championship.
