Mount Swimming Falls to William Paterson

WAYNE, N.J. — Women’s swimming swam tough, but ultimately came up short against William Paterson University with a final score of 107-84.

Cayla Nicholas and Grace MacHugh earned themselves two individual wins apiece.

Nicholas won the 50-yard freestyle (26.51) and the 100-yard freestyle (58.10), while

MacHugh took first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:12.77) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.07).

Meghan Wurster had a strong showing today as well, with second place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (2:11.35), the 100-yard butterfly (1:17.71) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:52.49).

Victoria DeLuca also earned some key points for the Knights, swimming to second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 15:18.04.

Kate Cerven, Rhiannon Mulkerrins, DeLuca and Sarah Zellner closed out the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:16.67).

Women’s swimming will compete again on Friday, November 8 at 6 PM against Lehman College and Adelphi University in the Bronx.
