DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2024 Division I FBS All-ECAC Team and Major Award, and Army head football coach Jeff Monken has been named Coach of the Year.
This season, Monken led Army to race out to a 9-0 start, which included reaching a 13-game winning streak, the longest in the FBS. Monken’s unit captured the American Athletic Conference Championship, Army’s first-ever conference title in its first year as a member of the conference.
This is Monken’s second time being named the ECAC Coach of the Year, also taking home the honors in 2021 in what was a 9-4 campaign.
Monken and his Army team will take on Louisiana Tech in the Independence Bowl on Dec. 28, Army’s first bowl game since 2021.
The ECAC and this award are from a collection of schools from the Northeast geographically.
Army also saw four players appear on the All-ECAC offensive team with QB Bryson Daily, RB Kanye Udoh, OL Connor Finucane and OL Brady Small.
Playoff-bound Penn State won two awards, with Tyler Warren winning Offensive Player of the Year and Abdul Carter winning Defensive Player of the Year. Syracuse Freshman Maraad Watson won Rookie of the Year.
