GOSHEN – On Wednesday, December 18th, the highly anticipated ribbon cutting and tour of the new Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office was held. Located at 22 Wells Farm Road in Goshen, this state-of-the-art, 18,175-square-foot facility is a game changer in the field of medical examination services.
“This new facility, equipped with the latest technology and resources, will enhance the quality and efficiency of medical examining here in Orange County,” said Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus. “It will revolutionize the way we conduct medical examinations and investigations and will also be a more comforting environment for those who have suffered the loss of a loved one. I know that our Medical Examiner, Dr. Jennifer Roman, is looking forward to working in the new setting, and I anticipate this improved ME’s building will have a positive impact on our community.”
During the event, tours of the facility were given, and attendees were able to witness firsthand the innovative design, attention to detail, and fine craftmanship that went into creating this space. A team of construction professionals was available to answer any questions.
“I am grateful to the County and all the departments involved in making this new building a reality,” said Orange County Medical Examiner Dr. Jennifer Roman. “I am fortunate to work with a wonderful team of individuals in the ME’s Office, and we do our best to help people navigate some of the most difficult times of their lives. I am thankful that we will now be able to continue our work in a facility that reflects the professionalism and care that we as an office try to cultivate in our service to the population of Orange County.”
This $23 million project was mostly paid for through federal grants, including funding of $20 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
