Mount Gulian Children’s Holiday Tea

BEACON – Friday, the Mount Gulian Historic Site held its annual, popular Children’s Holiday Tea. Attracting 35 guests, the event included a host of activities.

First, was the tea and finger sandwiches segment. Next came the opportunity to be creative, as a candy cane and wreath holiday decoration workshop was held in the downstairs kitchen area, allowing participants to also learn some of the deep history connected to the historic home. Finally, it was time to head back upstairs and enjoy an array of cookies and other sweets to have with more tea. The special afternoon was filled with smiles, laughter and fun, making for lasting memories.

“This is our first time here, and it’s been really lovely,” said a member of the four member Valentine family from the Town of Newburgh, as they all sipped on their teas. “The significance of the location, beautiful holiday decorations and exposing the children to manners, some history and a fun craft are all wonderful.”
