Bard College Falls 75-49 to RIT on Senior Day

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – The Bard College women’s basketball team hosted RIT on Senior Day, as they celebrated Maggy Peyton, their lone senior.

Peyton had five points and went 3-of-4 from the line in her final game. She also had four rebounds, an assist, and a block. Erin Tobes had a field day, scoring 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, continuing her hot streak against the Tigers after scoring 16 in the first meeting.

She added four rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

Aislynn Dixon also was in double figures, scoring 10, rebounding three shots, blocking a shot and recording one steal. Shirley Dong was a menace on defense with a team-high three steals and a block. Lexi Miller had eight points on 4-of-7 shooting, as well as a team-high six rebounds. Jessica Martin contributed seven points and a rebound in 25 minutes.

Bard kept it close in the first 4:21 of play, down just one at 7-8. RIT hit a three at the end of the quarter to gain a nine-point lead. Tobes had five points in the first quarter, followed by Dixon with three and Miller and Peyton with two each. The Raptors shot 4-of-5 from the line in the second quarter, leading to their highest-scoring quarter of the game with 14.

Tobes had nine of the 14 Raptor points.

The Raptors held the Tigers to 36.8% shooting in the third quarter, rotating on drives and contesting shots well. In the fourth quarter, Dixon and Martin got shots to fall from three-point land, but it wasn’t enough to come back.

This season Miller led the team in scoring, rebounds, and blocks, scoring 182 points, four ahead of Tobes, who led the team in free throws made (42).
