Summer Health Lecture Series

MIDDLETOWN – Summer Lecture Series II starts again on Monday, July 28, 2025.

The overall topic is The Human Body. This series of presentations is a gift given by Walter Jahn, Ph.D. to the community as he shares his knowledge in a serious but understandable manner. As usual, the lecture series is free and open to the public.

Walter Jahn received his B.S. from Penn State University. He holds an M.S. from Widener University, plus an M.S. and Ph.D. from Temple University. Professor Jahn teaches a wide variety of Biology courses including anatomy and physiology at SUNY Orange.

With such a broad educational and life experience skill set, he decided to offer a set of lectures that is practical. He said about the lecture series, “Often, members of the general public will find themselves in doctors’ offices trying to interpret test results.” This series of lectures is designed “to give overviews on the subjects” in order that attendees may gain a better understanding of the workings of their bodies, thereby making these reports easier to understand.”

This set of lectures actually started on May 19 with The Biology of Gender.

However, now we are focused on four that start July 28 and go through August 18. The timeframe is 5:30 to 6:30 early Monday evenings.
• July 28: Human Blood and Blood Tests
