Bard Finished 7th at Cairn Invitational

The Bard College men’s and women’s cross country teams finished 7th out of 20 in the Cairn Invitational. Anna Shtandenko and Elijah Flynn each finished 11th place in their respective races.

On the men’s side, Flynn finished his 8K race in just under 30 minutes with a time of 29:58.2. Bo Hopwood placed 18th with a time of 31:34.2. Hameed Azad and Koei Nakamura ran their first ever collegiate meet. Charles Grenadier finished 42nd, while Johnny Henriquez finished 73rd. Bard scored 199 points, just 10 points away from the 6th place team.

On the women’s side, the top 5 runners finished top 50. Shtandenko shaved off a minute of her time with a personal best of 27:31.8. Emma St. Peter finished top 30 with a time of 30:15.0. Alex Laskowski finished 33rd, while Odille Zexter-Kaiser finished 47th and Chloe Desautels finished 50th. The Raptors accumulated 138 points, just nine points behind the 6th place team.

Bard will be back on Oct 18 when they head to Springfield, MA for the WNEU Invite.
