Hawks Sweep Sixth Dual Match in a Row

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – The State University of New York at New Paltz earned another 7-0 sweep Saturday afternoon against Bard College.

“A strong performance in both doubles and singles lineup, saw us come through 7-0 match wins against a strong and resilient Bard team” said SUNY New Paltz coach Rob Bruley. “This match not only showed the athletic side of our program, but it also showed the mental side. We are now looking forward to our last match of the year against Manhattanville before moving on to defend our SUNYAC conference championship.”

Doubles: The Hawks swept doubles.

Nina Genzone and Angelica Gabriel swept their match 6-0 not letting up a single point against their third doubles opponents.

Sam Ostrander and Justine Stanejko played first doubles, earning their match with 6-4 set.

Olivia Kunz and Patrycja Filonik won their match 7-5, securing the Doubles point for the Hawks.

Singles: The Hawks earned five 6-0 sets, earning two matches without letting up a point.

Both Filonik and Alex Krol won their matches 6-0 playing both great offense and defense.

Stanejko lost her first set 6-2 but battled back earning the second set 6-3. She won her third set with a score of 10-3, earning the match.

Ostrander won her first set 6-3 and her second 6-4.

Sydney Sladicka won her first match 6-1 and continued to dominate earning the second set 6-2.

Lula Brown-Vann earned her first set with a score of 6-2 and won her second set 6-0, earning the win.
