MOREHEAD, KY – The Marist University football team fell 23-21 in a Pioneer Football League contest on Saturday afternoon at Phil Stimms Stadium.

Jordan Price’s 39-yard field goal with 2:48 left in the first quarter put Morehead State up 3-0.

Isaac Stopke’s one-yard touchdown plunge extended Morehead State’s lead to 10-0 at the 13:48 mark of the third quarter.

Thomas Schwartz V hit a 40-yard field goal with 1:53 left in the second quarter, which gave Morehead State a 13-0 advantage. The score remained this way at halftime.

Carter Cravens’ 15-yard touchdown pass to Cannon Dinger gave the Eagles a 20-0 lead in the third quarter.

Marist got on the board with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Sonny Mannino to Carter James. This culminated an eight-play, 69-yard drive, and brought Marist to within 20-7 at the 2:02 mark of the third quarter.

Mannino’s touchdown on a one-yard keeper brought Marist to within 20-14 with 5:33 to play.

James’ one-yard rushing touchdown with 31 seconds remaining, followed by Samer Layous’ PAT, gave the Red Foxes their first lead at 21-20.
