CFOS Annual Reception Celebrates The Power Of Giving

MONTGOMERY – More than 300 guests gathered last month at West Hills Country Club in Middletown for the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan’s (CFOS) 2025 Annual Reception. The evening celebrated generosity and community spirit, honoring the partnerships that strengthen philanthropy across the region.

This year’s theme, “Forging Paths of Purpose,” reflected the Foundation’s ongoing mission to connect people who care with causes that matter. Guests were invited to explore the 2025 CFOS Annual Report, which highlights stories of impact, collaboration, and the growing network of funds making a difference across Orange, Sullivan, and Rockland counties.

“This year, we wanted to shine the spotlight on the work of the Foundation itself and the incredible people who make it thrive year after year,” said Elizabeth Rowley, CFOS president and CEO. “Community foundations are built, grown and sustained by people who give to and through our organization to make our region stronger. Each of you is forging your own path of purpose, and together, we’re making a powerful impact.”

“This year also marks a new chapter in our path of purpose as we take steps to incorporate our friends at the Rockland Community Foundation, creating one larger, stronger regional foundation,” Rowley added. “We’re excited to continue growing philanthropy and charitable giving across Orange, Sullivan and Rockland counties—and beyond—so that even more individuals can achieve their charitable goals and strengthen the communities we all call home.”

Funds to support the Foundation’s annual operations were raised through the generous support of corporate sponsors, fundholders, and individual donors. Proceeds from the evening benefit CFOS’s operating budget, enabling the Foundation to provide expert stewardship and administrative support for hundreds of charitable funds that serve communities across the region.

The event featured a cocktail reception, hors d’oeuvres, networking, and reflections on the Foundation’s growing impact. Guests left inspired to continue fostering generosity and community connection in the year ahead.

“The annual reception is always a highlight of the year,” Rowley said. “It’s a time to celebrate the good that’s being done, thank those who make it possible, and inspire continued giving that truly changes lives.”
