SAUGERTIES – Local veterans were honored with heartfelt appreciation at three Saugerties elementary schools and at Saugerties Junior High School this past week as students, staff, and community members gathered to celebrate Veterans Day.

At Saugerties Junior High School, students welcomed family members and local veterans for a special breakfast before holding a Veterans Day assembly. Principal Ginger Vail and several students spoke about the importance of recognizing the service and sacrifices made by those who have served in the armed forces.

The ceremonies provided meaningful opportunities for students to learn about and express gratitude to the men and women who have dedicated themselves to protecting our country.
