SUNY Orange Colts Take Down Rockland

SUFFERN – The nationally 18th-ranked SUNY Orange men’s basketball team took down Mid-Hudson conference opponent Rockland by a final score of 94-80 Tuesday night. The Colts improve to 8-0 on the season as the Hawks drop to 6-2.

Freshman Anthony Pacciarelli had a standout game, leading the Colts with a career-high 36 points while adding six rebounds, one assist, and three steals. Sophomore Darren McFarlane contributed 14 points along with nine rebounds, two assists, six steals and one block.

The opening half set the tone of a tightly contested battle. The Hawks struck first but the Colts answered quickly. It was a back and forth battle going into halftime with the Colts leading 46-42.

Coming out of the break, the Colts came out strong, quickly establishing a larger lead and refusing to let up for the remainder of the game.
