Mount Baseball Wins Three-Game Series

MARION, N.C. – The Mount Saint Mary College baseball team takes home a series win after defeating Johnson & Wales in Game Three.

Mount Saint Mary looked to take the 3-game series over Johnson & Wales with a win in their third and final game. Noah Anderson would single in the 1st inning, as he would go a perfect 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored on the day. Freshman pitcher Lucas Graber would get the start on the mound for the Knights, walking two batters in the bottom half of the inning, but holding the Wildcats to no runs. Kaleb Morgan would lead off the top of the 2nd with 1 of his 2 doubles on the day. Kaeden Fisher singled with bases loaded later in the inning to score Morgan, then Elijah Duprey would hit a sacrifice fly to give the Mount a 2-0 lead. In the top of the 3rd, Aidan Marshall notched his first home run of the season, scoring Noah Anderson to extend their lead to 4-0. Graber would leave two Johnson & Wales runners stranded in the bottom half of the inning to keep them off the scoreboard.

The Wildcats would finally get on the board in the 4th inning, scoring 2 runs before Daniel Alexander would come in to pitch with bases loaded, getting the Knights out of a jam. Noah Anderson started off the top of the 5th with a leadoff single, followed by a double from Aidan Marshall. Kaleb Morgan would score them both with a double of his own to make it 6-2. In the bottom of the 5th, the Wildcats were able to score a run off an error to cut their deficit to 6-3. Christian Parisa would add another run for the Knights the following inning, hitting an RBI single to score Philip Giancaspro. The Mount added an insurance run in the top of the 9th off a bases-loaded walk, as they now led 8-3. Knights pitcher Daniel Alexander would pitch 5.1 innings, allowing no earned runs and leading Mount Saint Mary to a victory for his first win of his career.
