On the mound, Charles Lehr had a career performance in Game 1. Lehr went 4.0 innings pitched with a career-high 10 strikeouts, tied for fourth for most strikeouts in a game alongside Evan Richardson and Spencer Checkoway. He allowed only two hits and had one batter walk. Lehr’s pitching performance brought CCNY’s batting average to .143. Graham Benway got his first career save in Game 1. He threw 3.0 innings with only one hit and had a strikeout.

Bard will face New Paltz on Wednesday at 3 p.m. before the Raptors head to Florida for their spring break games.

Game 1: Bard 3, CCNY 0
Lehr set the pitching tone in the top of the first with two strikeouts in the four batters he faced. Bard got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the frame, with an RBI single by Jack Burcell with two outs.

Lehr struck out three Beavers in the top of the second and fourth, while striking out two in the third. In the bottom of the third, Bard scored two runs off an RBI double by Lunt-Woodward and an RBI single by Grosfoguel.

In the seven innings that Bard had CCNY hit, the Raptors went 1-2-3 in three of the innings.

Game 2: Bard 15, CCNY 7
CCNY opened the scoring at the top of the first, going up 3-0. Bard was trying to find its swing with the Beavers game 2 pitcher. In the bottom of the third, Rudd gave Bard life as he doubled down the left field line, and stole third off a fly out by Webb. Rivlin drew a walk to make it two runners on base. A sacrifice fly by Leandri to center field brought home Rudd, and the Raptors were on the board.

The Beavers scored two extra runs in the top of the fourth to extend their lead to 5-1.

However, the Raptors felt the momentum shift with three consecutive singles from Hormozabal, Williams, and Hall to load the bases. A sacrifice fly RBI by Melton got the Raptors within three of the Beavers.

A double steal and a plate battle that was won by Rudd with a walk loaded the bases again.

A meant-to-be routine double play turned to Bard scoring two runs as CCNY’s shortstop overthrew it to second, which caused the mayhem of two runs scored and a one-run deficit.

Rivlin added two more runs as he doubled down the left field line to clear the bases and for Bard to take a 6-5 lead. A single by Lunt-Woodward brought home Rivlin, and the sides retired with a 7-5 Raptor lead.

The Raptors’ hot bats kept going in the bottom of the fifth with eight more runs scored. Six of the eight runs were from no outs situation, as each Bard player that went up to bat either singled, walked or was hit by a pitch. The Raptors went down the batting lineup with no outs on the board. The Beavers scored one run in the top of the sixth and seventh, but it was too late for a comeback.
