Marist Completes Series Sweep Defeating Siena

WAPPINGERS FALLS – Marist Baseball defeated Siena by a final score of 13-6 Sunday afternoon after erasing a six run deficit with a nine run fifth inning. The Red Foxes are now 10-16 on the season.

Siena got the scoring started in the top of the fourth inning, driving in two runs on a sacrifice fly and RBI single.

A four run fifth inning gave the Saints a commanding 6-0 lead.

The Marist offense exploded in the fifth inning, scoring nine runs and taking the lead.

AJ Brotz got the party started driving in three runs with a bases clearing double.

TJ Baer drove in another run with an RBI single and later scored on a passed ball cutting the deficit to one.

Nathan Lincoln tied the ball game with an RBI single.

Brady Steinert gave the Red Foxes a lead, sending a three run home run over the left field wall.

AJ Brotz added to the Red Foxes lead driving in a run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning

Marist scored two more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning

Luke Monico drove in the first run of the inning with a sacrifice fly.

AJ Botz hit an RBI single extending the lead to 12-6.

Brady Steinert put the ball in play and brought a run home making it a 13-6 ball game in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Red Foxes closed it out in the ninth to win by a final score of 13-6.
