Army Baseball Drops Finale at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – Army West Point baseball’s series finale at the Holy Cross Crusaders was pushed back a day due to rain, but the Black Knights were unable to secure the Monday win, falling 10-2 at Fitton Field.

For the third time in the series, Army struck first, with an RBI single from Jack Quinlan in the opening inning. But once again, the Crusaders took the lead back in the bottom of the first, with two runs of their own to go ahead 2-1.

Holy Cross would extend its lead in the third, with three runs to make it 5-1. They added two more in the fourth and three in the sixth on a three-run homer.
Army would tack on a late run in the ninth, with a Mason Scott RBI double.

Trey Ates struck out three batters and walked none over his three-inning start, but was on the hook for the decision.

Anthony Ramiriez provided a frame out of the bullpen, before giving way to Michael Delph, who pitched two innings and struck out four. Jakob Vanderhave closed the game on the mound with two scores frames and a pair of strikeouts.
