Colts Fall to Westchester Community College

MIDDLETOWN – The SUNY Orange baseball team fell to Westchester Community College 13-4 on Thursday, April 23.

The Vikings scored first, putting up one run in the opening inning. The Colts responded quickly with a run of their own on an RBI single by Michael Fontaine.

In the second inning Westchester scored five runs to bring the score to 6-1. Fontaine added another RBI in the third to cut the deficit.

In the fourth inning the Vikings added two runs, while the Colts added one run off an RBI from Nikolas Marrero. In the fifth inning the Colts brought in one more when Jackson Atwell walked to bring the score to 8-4.

The Vikings extended their lead in the sixth with one run and secured the victory in the seventh, scoring four more runs.

Anthony Borromeo got the start, facing 26 batters and allowing four earned runs while striking out one. Gavin Rounds made an appearance, allowing two earned runs and recording one strikeout, and Julian Butcher faced six batters and allowed three earned runs.
