2026 Love Your Block Mini-Grants Announced

NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh today announces the annual launch of the Love Your Block mini-grants program, a community-strengthening collaboration between the City of Newburgh and New York State Attorney General Letitia James’ Cities RISE grant program. This program provides funding to our City’s neighborhood & community-based organizations as they join together in common purpose to build community spirit.

Mayor Torrance Harvey: “Love Your Block is about pride, partnership, and people taking ownership of the places they call home. When neighbors clean, care for, and celebrate their blocks together, they do more than beautify a street – they build bonds, brighten neighborhoods, and bring Newburgh’s community spirit to life. We thank Attorney General Letitia James for her continued partnership and investment in our City.”

The Love Your Block mini-grant program provides funding to community and faith-based organizations, tenant associations, and block associations to facilitate community cleanup and beautification events throughout the City. Grant funding is available for carting and dumpster fees, cleaning supplies, as well as food and entertainment to facilitate a community block party cleanup event. Funding is also available for materials, including gardening supplies, arts and crafts, and more to beautify and improve neighborhood or community areas. All activities and events require a City of Newburgh event permit.

Love Your Block mini-grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested in applying for grant funding should contact Nick Edward, Neighborhood Stabilization Coordinator, at nedward@cityofnewburgh-ny.gov.
