ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – The Bard College women’s soccer team played with tenacity against the Clarkson Golden Knights on Saturday afternoon at Ferrari Field, preventing multiple goals from being scored in the 0-1 final.

Clarkson challenged Thayden Hamilton-Howard early on, with three shots in the first 14 minutes. The Raptors’ defense held despite a run of three straight corners in the middle of the half. At the 31:25 mark, Hamilton-Howard made the first of three saves in a span of about eight minutes to keep the game scoreless. With five seconds left, Brooke Egrestis took a shot on goal but was stopped.

One of Bard’s best opportunities was in the 76th minute, as Slaiby took an initial shot on goal, leading to a shot by Isabella Vince’s seconds later. Both were saved to continue the stalemate. Finally, with 4:09 left, Clarkson found space to score and secure the game-winner late in the contest.
