NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh Democratic Committee, the Newburgh Alliance, the Nu-Voters Movement, and Council Member Shakur are proud to announce their endorsement of Mark Levinstein, Shade Burks, and John Doerre.
In a statement the groups stated, “These candidates are endorsed because we believe they will best serve the students of the district, prioritize educational excellence, and work toward a stronger future for all.”
The statement continued, “This endorsement was made after careful consideration of who will put our students first with every decision. We believe these candidates will lead with integrity, prioritize student success, and work collaboratively with administration, teachers, and all staff to strengthen our schools and community.”
Election of Members of the Board of Education and Vote on the School District Budget, and Vote on the Library Budget will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, between the hours of 12:00 Noon and 9:00 P.M. During that time voters will elect three members to the Board of Education to serve for three-year terms (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2028).
Ms. Victoria Bousche, BOE Vice-President, Mr. John Doerre, and Mr. Fred Stewart, terms will expire on June 30, 2025.
Ms. Letitia McDaniel Politi, Mr. Philip Howard and Mr. Ramiro Burgarelli terms expire June 30, 2026.
Ms. Mackenzie Bousche, Ms. Thomasina A. Bello and Ms. Christine M. Bello, BOE President, terms expire June 30, 2027.
