OC Dems Kick Off Early Voting With Full Slate

NEWBURGH – A spirited crowd filled the headquarters of Sussman’s campaign in the City of Newburgh as the early-voting kickoff event brought together the Democratic and Working Families Party slate with palpable energy and purpose. Highlighting the event was Antonio Delgado, Lieutenant Governor of New York, who amplified the message of coalition building and gave dedicated support to Genesis Ramos for her re-election to the Orange County Legislature.

In a full and diverse room, volunteers and speakers emphasized a vision of bridging multiracial, working-class, and cross-generational communities – with the coalition intentionally centered on making space for all voices.

The Slate Standing Strong:
● County Legislative Slate: Genesis Ramos (Re-election), Gabrielle Hill, Stephen Hunter, and Virginia Scott
● City of Newburgh Council Slate:
○ Ward 1: Giselle Martinez (Re-election)
○ Ward 2: Ramona Monteverde (Re-election)
○ Ward 3: Tamika Stewart – running on the Working Families Party line (Row
D)
○ Ward 4: Ronald Zorrilla
● Town Council Candidates: Mary McLymore and Mary Lou Carolan

Co-hosts Creating the Movement Together:
The event was co-hosted by the City of Newburgh Democrats, Town of Newburgh Democrats, Working Families Party Club, 1199SEIU, Citizen Action Network, Community Voices Heard, For the Many, and the Nu‑Voters. Together they set the tone: this isn’t just an election – it’s a community movement.

The Message: Get Out & Vote!
“From now through early voting and on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, we ride this wave of energy together,” said Lt. Governor Delgado. “When we show up as one coalition – multiracial, working-class, intergenerational – we win more than seats. We build a stronger community.”

The message to all supporters: Head to the polls now through Nov. 2 for early voting – then again on Election Day. Encourage your neighbors, friends and family to join the movement.
Let’s turn that electric energy into votes.
