Monday, a group of hard- working volunteers loaded up a truck full of an impressive number of gifts for the upcoming Operation Toy Train Giveaway, which this year replaces the previous ones’ Toys for Tots program.
A nationwide venue of giving, the local event, a collaboration with Orange County Executive, Steve Neuhaus, Operation Toy Train Giveaway, will take the donated gifts placed on “the train,” running from Middletown to Newburgh, and distribute them along their route. Stops at the Newburgh Armory are scheduled for; this Thursday, December 18, Friday, December 19 and Sunday, December 21.
“Every child deserves a Christmas,” said Tracy Kazin, a five year Toys for Tots volunteer who helps lead this event.
