Marist Men Capture Fourth Straight Win

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist University men’s basketball team won its fourth straight game on Saturday, as the Red Foxes led wire-to-wire in an 82-67 triumph over Fairfield in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at McCann Arena.

Marist scored the game’s first seven points, which included a three-pointer by Elijah Lewis and back-to-back field goals by Jason Schofield.

An 11-2 run, which included two three-pointers by Myles Parker, extended Marist’s lead to 11.

Marist had a pair of 6-0 runs late in the first half. Parby Kabamba scored Marist’s final nine points of the half, and the Red Foxes led 43-29 after 20 minutes.

Fairfield started the second half with a 5-2 spurt to cut its deficit to 11, but that was as close as the Stags would get. Marist countered with an 8-0 run to extend its lead to 19.

An 8-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from Rhyjon Blackwell, gave Marist its largest lead at 27.

Fairfield scored the game’s final six points to cut the final margin to 15.
