Colts Defeated by SUNY Ulster

STONE RIDGE – The SUNY Orange baseball team dropped a game to Ulster County Community College on Thursday, April 9, by a final score of 15-5.
The Colts got on the board first in the opening inning, scoring three runs that led to a RBI single from Michael Fontaine, followed by a RBI single to left field from AJ Grant. Julian Butcher brought in the third run off a single to the pitcher. Ulster quickly responded by bringing in five runs in the first inning.

The second inning was scoreless for both teams, but the Senators added one run in the third. Ulster extended their lead in the fourth by driving in another six runs bringing the score to 12-3.

SUNY Orange added one run in the fifth off a homerun from Grant. The Colts were brought in one moe run in the sixth off an RBI from Fontaine. The Senators secured the victory by scoring three more runs to top off the score at 15-5.

Gavin Rounds got the start for the Colts pitching 3.2 innings facing 28 batters, allowing nine earned runs and striking out three. Shaun Misczuk made an appearance pitching one inning, facing eight batters allowing two earned runs and three strike outs. Brandon Brodala made a brief appearance facing four batters and allowing no earned runs. Jacob Morino faced two batters and allowed no earned runs.
