Colt’s Soccer Overpowered on the Road

NEW ROCHELLE – The SUNY Orange men’s soccer team fell to host Monroe-Bronx Thursday by a score of 12-0. The loss drops the Colts to 1-2-0 on the season while the Express improved to 2-2-1.

Monroe-Bronx scored just four minutes into the game and scored eight more times in the first half, taking a 9-0 lead into the break. They added three more goals in the second half to close out the game.

Sophomore goalkeeper Dominic Vega recorded his second straight game with a career-high in saves, this time stopping 14 shots before being replaced due to injury. Freshman Daviti Bulashvili made three saves after taking over for Vega.

The Express recorded 43 shots in the shortened, 70-minute contest.

The Colts are back in action Thursday as they host SUNY Ulster. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
