SAUGERTIES – Saugerties High School celebrated one of its longtime traditions during the annual Mum Bowl on Saturday, October 3. The Sawyers took on the Port Jervis Red Raiders in front of an enthusiastic hometown crowd that continued to show its Sawyer pride throughout the game, despite a 33-0 loss. A highlight of the afternoon came during halftime, when the 2026 Mum Queen and her Court were crowned. Kathryn Hopf was crowned this year’s Mum Queen by Saugerties teacher and 1987 Mum Queen Melissa Greco, with Sage Sasso and Lauren Stinemire named to her Court. The annual tradition brought students, families, and community members together to celebrate school spirit and Saugerties pride.
