Newburgh City Council in need of a transformation

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to introduce Mr. Curlie Dillard as one of the Democratic Candidate’s for City Council for the City of Newburgh. Mr. Dillard is 62 years of age, has lived in the city for 58 years, married with three sons. I have known the family since my days at Balmville School, when Mr. Dillard would attend school functions and invite some of the kids to his house to eat and play basketball with his sons.

With a projected budget gap close to five million dollars, the City of Newburgh will be confronted with some critical decisions very soon in regards to the 2010 budget, remember while the council bicker the city is without a permanent city manger, key department heads, diminishing tax revenue, possible employee layoff, and allegations of discrimination in the Department of Public Works. It is imperative that a City Council address the people’s business, not their individual political agendas. I know Mr. Dillard is for the people, that is why I support him for City Council.

He has an excellent knowledge of workforce development policy and he understands the personal factors that influence families and individuals. He is dedicated to empowering people while providing a career training path to self sufficiency. He enjoys a challenge and I believe he will work steadfast to attain goals and outcomes for the City of Newburgh. He takes pride in being a team player and I am certain his involvement can transcend to the level of a City Council member. He has a vision for the City of Newburgh of Collaboration, Negotiation and Transformation. With Mr. Dillard on the City Council we the people can stabilize this government and build a better city. Vote September 15th for The Team of Dillard and Angelo, the only Democratic Team for City Council.

Sincerely

Charles Wooten
