Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Fulvio A. Ortega

Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Fulvio A. Ortega is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Iraqi or Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively.

The soldiers return to Fort Dix, N.J. for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units.

The sergeant served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Southwest Asia.

Ortega is a construction engineering sergeant with the 1st Battalion, 309th Training Support Brigade, based in Fort Dix, New Jersey. He has served in the military for 30 years.

He is the son of Fulbio A. and Rosa H. Ortega of Haverstraw, N.Y.

The sergeant is a 1977 graduate of North Rockland High School, Thiells, N.Y.
