EDsmart, a nationally recognized publisher of college rankings, released their 2016-2017 edition of the Best Community Colleges in New York,placing SUNY Ulster #5 out of their Top Ten in the state.
More than 120 community colleges were evaluatedusing publicly available data on retention rates, transfer rates, graduation rates and net price gathered from the National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator. Earlier this year, the National Center for Education Statistics named SUNY Ulster in their Top 100 Affordable Colleges in the nation.
SUNY Ulster President, Dr. Alan Roberts, notes, “Each year, several thousand students benefit from the expertise of our academic advisors and career, transfer and financial aid counselors. Nearly 80% of our students are enrolled in transfer programs, graduating on to complete their four-year degrees at many SUNY institutions throughout the state as well as private institutions such as Marist, Bard, Tufts, and Cornell. In addition, almost 70% of SUNY Ulster students graduate debt free, and this year our Foundation awarded over $300,000 to more than 200 students. Student success is of the utmost importance to us and we are proud to be recognized in this group of top community colleges.”
