Marist Sophmore Juston Christian, Earns National Recognition

POUGHKEEPSIE – Sophomore wide receiver Juston Christian of the Marist football team was named Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Honorable Mention Offensive Player of the Week by Stats, LLC following his performance in the Red Foxes’ 44-41 overtime triumph at Morehead State on Saturday.

Christian caught six passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner on a 32-yard strike from red-shirt sophomore quarterback Mike White in overtime. The 217 yards and three touchdowns were both career highs. The three touchdowns tied a single-game program record, and the 217 yards marked the second-highest single-game total in program history. It was just the third 200-yard receiving game in program history.

In the last two weeks, Christian has 14 receptions for 398 yards and five touchdowns. For the season, he leads the Red Foxes in receptions (29), receiving yards (659), touchdowns (six), and yards per reception (22.7). He also ranks in the FCS top 10 in three statistical categories:

Yards per reception (third, 22.7).
Receiving yards per game (eighth, 109.8).
Total receiving yards (ninth, 659).

Last season, Christian led the FCS in yards per reception and was named Second Team All-Pioneer Football League (PFL). He was named Preseason All-PFL this year.

Marist is 3-0 in the PFL for the first time in program history. The Red Foxes have won three straight, and will host Davidson in their next contest as part of Homecoming & Reunion Weekend. The game will be played on Saturday, Oct. 22 at noon at Tenney Stadium.
