Newburgh Rowing Club Cleans Up Hudson River Shore on Earth Day

NEWBURGH – The Newburgh Rowing Club celebrated Earth Day on April 22nd with Rowers cleaning up the Hudson River shoreline, planting trees, and starting a community garden, said Coach Ed Kennedy.

“We also hosted our NRC Earth Day Row for Clean Water,” said Coach Kennedy.  As a community organization we are committed to a clean Hudson River.  We are excited about our community garden  at Ward Brothers memorial park in the city of Newburgh as well.”

Many rowers participate through scholarships provided by America Rows and Swims Newburgh, said Juliana LoBiondo, Director of America Rows and Swims Newburgh, a not-for-profit organization providing free rowing programs, free swim classes, and summer camps for underserved youth in the city of Newburgh.
