Vassar 4×400 Relay Runs Well at the Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Vassar College women’s track and field team entered its 4×400 relay squad to the prestigious Penn Relays on Franklin Field at the University of Pennsylvania, showing well at the most famous track and field meet in the nation.

The 4×400 meter relay squad, consisting of Alex Gittens, Lucy Balcezak, Saparja Nag, Molly Crowell and alternate Eliana Marcus-Tyler, ran a sub-4:00.00 time of 3:59.11, finishing ahead of some Division I and II teams. The time was also one of the team’s fastest times at the Penn Relays, while also marking a season-best for the relay team.

“It was a solid race for us,” said associate head coach Justin Harris. “Everyone raced well tactically. It was one of our better times at Penn Relays, the weather was good, good vibes, the women executed in a pressured scenario.”
