The Mount Participates in Roadrunner Invitational

MAHWAH, N.J. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women’s Volleyball team saw its losing skid reach six matches with a pair of 3-0 non-conference losses to finish the Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Ramapo. The Knights fell 16-25, 14-25, 14-25 to FDU-Florham before falling to the host Roadrunners 12-25, 8-25, 14-25.

FDU-Florham 3 – Mount Saint Mary 0

FDU-Florham rounded out the match with a 33-23 advantage in kills over the Knights and hit .168 as a unit against just a .024 mark for the Mount. The Devils also held a 4-1 edge in aces, while the Knights out blocked FDU-Florham 6-3.

Jackie Survilla and Morgan Burke paced the Mount’s offense with four kills each with Survilla lifting 11 digs and adding a pair of blocks. Burke closed the match with a team-high four total blocks.

Senior Julimar Figueroa led three players in double-figures in digs with a match-high 19. Courtney Blum posted a double-double for the Knights with 13 digs to go along with 17 assists.

FDU-Florham was led by 11 kills and 10 digs from Lauren Harris, with Melissa Gaffney putting away nine winners and lifting a team-high 18 digs. Courtney Conte rounded out a double-double effort with 17 digs and a match-high 26 assists.

Ramapo 3 – Mount Saint Mary 0

The Knights closed the tournament with a -.104 attack percentage with Ramapo hitting .284 as a team and holding a 31-12 edge in kills. The Roadrunner also posted the edge in aces 10-3 and blocks 2-0.

Freshman Renee Hydo and Danielle Kralik accounted for half of the team’s kill total with three winners each in the contest. Hydo rounded out the contest with two of the team’s three service aces.

Senior Chelsea Barberan and classmate Figueroa led the team with 11 digs apiece with Blum leading the team with seven assists.

Ramapo received 14 kills and a .333 attack percentage from Larysa Iwaskiw who added nine digs. Kate Shirkey handed out 16 assists with Hannah Frascella pacing the team with two total blocks.
