“Hoops & Swish Fun-Raiser” to be Held

NEWBURGH – Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh is once again participating in the Newburgh Rotary Club’s “Hoops & Swish Fun-Raiser” on Saturday, November 4th, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at NFA, 201 Fullerton Avenue in Newburgh.  They, along with other area organizations, will have a team of 4 to 6 players assigned a 15-minute time slot to shoot baskets – layups or any other legal shots – for 2 minutes, each player.  Money raised by backing a participating player goes to his or her team’s charity.

The Meals on Wheels team will be making their shots at 11:00 a.m. and is headed by volunteers Richard Leggett, Team Captain, and Sheila Diaz, Steve Leggett (Richard’s son) and Connor Leggett (NFA Junior and Richard’s grandson).  If you’d like to make a small pledge (a fixed amount, not based on the number of baskets), visit www.mealsonwheelsnewburgh.org, click on the “Donate” tab and follow the prompts.  Or, if you prefer, you can mail your check to Meals on Wheels, P.O.
