Vassar Women’s Basketball Slotted Fourth in Poll

POUGHKEEPSIE – With the 2017-18 women’s basketball season right around the corner, Vassar College was slotted to finish fourth in the league according to the Liberty League Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

At the top of the poll was first year member Ithaca with 70 points and four first place votes.

Also with 70 points was RIT, who garnered two first place votes. Skidmore was selected third, right ahead of Vassar, with both the Thoroughbreds and Brewers picking up two first place votes as well. Rounding out the top six were William Smith and Clarkson. Closing out the rest of the poll were St. Lawrence, Union, RPI, and Bard.

Last season, Vassar finished with a 12-13 overall mark and a 9-7 record against league opponents. They finished just outside the playoff race in fifth place. The Brewers roster is loaded with experienced players this year as they return nearly their entire roster from a season ago.

The Brewers kick off their season at William Patterson on Wednesday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m. in Wayne, NJ.
