Santa’s Toy Box at the Newburgh Free Library

NEWBURGH – The Newburgh Free Library (124 Grand Street) will once again be a drop-off location for Santa’s Toy Box, the annual holiday toy drive that benefits disadvantaged children in Orange County. The Library will accept donations of new, unwrapped toys or games, and wrapping paper, continuing every day that the library is open through Fri., Dec. 22.

A collection box will be located by the Information Desk on the Library’s main level. Residents of Orange County are encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy or game—keeping in mind that there is no limit to the number of donations a person can make.All donations will be distributed to families in Orange County with the assistance of organizations such as the Family Empowerment Council, Farmworkers Community Center, and Emergency Housing Group.

Santa’s Toy Box has been in operation for 31 years and is sponsored by the Orange County Department of Parks, with assistance from New Winds Day Hab and Goshen Day Program. Toy boxes will be available at 21 locations throughout Orange County this holiday season.

The Newburgh Free Library is open from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Mon. – Thurs.; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Fri. and Sat.; 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Sundays. The Town Branch is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Mon. and Thurs.; 12 p.m. – 8 p.m., Tues., Wed., and Fri.; 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturdays; closed Sundays.
