Marist Red Foxes Drop Match to Seton Hall

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – The Marist women’s tennis team kicked off its spring schedule Sunday afternoon with a hard-fought match against the Big East’s Seton Hall Pirates. The Red Foxes dropped their second dual match of the season 6-1 and now stand at 1-1 overall on the season.

The Pirates took control of the match early, winning all three doubles matches, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 to take the doubles point. In singles play, the Pirates won from the first five singles spots to clinch the overall match.

Elizabeth Brozovich picked up the Red Foxes’ lone point on the day in a straight set victory. Brozovich took the first set 6-3 and then won the second set in a tiebreak, 7-6 (3) over Seton Hall’s Anniek Jansen.

The Red Foxes will have a busy weekend ahead of them as they travel to take on St. John’s on Friday, February 2nd and then UConn on Sunday, February 4th.
