Tourism Travel Guide Receives Gold SIA Award

KINGSTON – The 2017-2018 Ulster County Tourism Travel Guide has recently received a Gold Service Industry Advertising Award. The full-color, comprehensive guide book to all-things-Ulster County was produced in partnership between Ulster County Tourism and Luminary Media, Inc. Previously, the 2016-2017 Ulster County Travel Guide earned a Silver Service Industry Advertising Award.

The 64-page guide—with a removable map—details top-notch experiences found across New York’s Hudson Valley, including outdoor adventure, food & craft beverages, history and culture, shopping, nightlife, and accommodations. There are localized editorial features as well as listings, both emboldened by captivating photography. The writing is curated and edited by Luminary Media’s experienced editorial team—that also produces magazines such as Chronogram, Upstater, Upstate House and Explore The Hudson Valley.

“We’ve been based in—and publishing extensively about—Ulster County since the beginning of our company, 25 years ago,” says Luminary Media editorial director, Brian K. Mahoney. “It is not only the place in which we live and work, but one we have grown in parallel with. Working alongside Ulster County Tourism to broadcast the places, people, and things that we hold so dear has been an absolute pleasure.”

The Ulster County Tourism Travel Guide is direct mailed to inbound travelers, as well as distributed to key visitor centers throughout New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. It is also spotlighted at national travel and tourism expositions. There are 120,000 copies printed each year.
