Energy Conservation Careers are Represented

NEW WINDSOR – RECAP represented careers in energy conservation at the Y2Kids; Careers from A to Z at Stewart International Airport in New Windsor on Thursday April 19, 2018. Director of Energy Services Henry Mendoza brought the department’s infrared camera which reads temperature variations and displays them in colors. He demonstrated the camera for students, focusing on items like hands, the wall of the building, and even ice cubes.

The annual event, coordinated by Orange-Ulster BOCES, introduces thousands of local middle school-age kids to careers through hands-on activities and demonstrations. Area employers set up stations for students to explore along with parents and teachers. Upon entering each student receives a card that is to be stamped by employers, and in order to get stamps they must ask questions about the field of work.
