Agency Soup Highlights Community Based Organizations

NEWBURGH – Students, faculty, staff, and community members heard from nearly 30 local agencies and organizations in the City of Newburgh through Agency Soup, held on Friday, October 12 at Mount Saint Mary College.

The event was co-sponsored by the Mount Saint Mary College Center for Community Engagement and Team Newburgh.

Agency Soup is an annual networking event designed to help partners of this coalition learn about the services that each organization offers. This allows them to make appropriate referrals to their clients for a wide variety of community services, including healthcare, domestic violence, drug court and addiction treatment, mental health, youth services, and more.

Robin Rosenberg, a career counselor with the college’s Career Center, spearheaded the event. She is a member of the college’s Center for Community Engagement and the Mount representative on the Team Newburgh coalition.

“The Mount has been a long-standing partner of the Team Newburgh community coalition,” noted Rosenberg. “Bringing this event to our campus allows us to identify possible opportunities for collaboration that can enhance the City of Newburgh.”
