ALBANY – The Marist men’s basketball team suffered a 67-55 loss to Siena in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at the Times Union Center on Sunday afternoon.
Marist scored the first four points, and an early 9-0 run expanded the Red Foxes’ lead to 17-6.

Siena answered with an 11-0 run. The Saints then took their first lead on a three by Evan Fisher, which put the Saints up 20-19 at the 9:05 mark.

Fisher’s layup at the end of the half gave Siena a 31-28 lead after the first 20 minutes.
The Saints expanded their lead to 15 at 52-37 with 12:57 to go. The Red Foxes then answered with an 8-0 run, with six points coming from senior guard Brian Parker.

After Parker’s layup cut Marist’s deficit to 52-45, the Red Foxes had just two field goals in the next 9:04. Siena ran its lead to a game high of 16 before Marist scored the final four points of the game.

“I was proud of our effort,” head coach John Dunne said. “If we don’t win because we don’t make enough shots, that’s what it is. We just have to continue our effort moving forward.”
Marist plays its final road game of the regular season on Friday, March 1 at Fairfield. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
