Yonkers Waives Fees and Penalties On Late Payments

YONKERS – Although Westchester County Property Tax payments are due on April 13, 2020, the Yonkers City Council has waived all fees and penalties for late payments up to 60 days from the due date.

“This is an unprecedented time in our history. Because of COVID-19 people are out of work and the future is unpredictable. I am proud to stand with all six Councilmembers to vote to eliminate penalties and fees for late Westchester County taxes made to the City of Yonkers,” stated Councilman John Rubbo.

“The City of Yonkers is obligated to pay Westchester County nearly $50 million in property taxes on May 23rd and so for cash-flow purposes, it is still important that we receive County Tax payments before May 13. I hope that with the Federal and State programs that are being rolled out at this time help our local residents most in need,” stated Councilman John Rubbo.
