First Responders Are Continuing Heroic Efforts

POUGHKEEPSIE – On Tuesday, April 21, 2020 the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department along with the Arlington (Rochdale) District Fire Department found out resident Deanna Wilson had to cancel her Sweet 16 Celebration due to COVID 19, so they bought the celebration to her home, honoring her with a parade and pizza for the family and friends in the convoy.

The Birthday girl’s cousin Kyla Baylor designed mask which were given out as party favors so attendees could continue to stay safe and keep state social distancing ordinances.

Deanna’s Grandmother Anna Wilson (retired City of Poughkeepsie School Teacher) presented a gift for her to resume dance classes at Queen City Dance Studio. Deanna has been a dancer, but had to stop due to being diagnosed with Spondylolysis, a degenerative disc disease. Now that she has completed physical therapy she can resume her dream. Queen City owner Leah Speck sent a virtual surprise welcoming back!

This was a very special “Sweet16” for Deanna!
