Executive Order 203! Whereas! Whereas! What?

“WHEREAS” this country was originally built on the backs of “MY FOREFATHERS” which were brought here in chains; “WHEREAS” walking and breathing while being “BLACK” in AMERICA, my country tis of thee, but not much “LIBERTY & JUSTICE” for people like me, this country would prefer that “WE” were no longer in existence, for the very presence of us are a constant reminder of their and their forefather’s depraved actions against another human being, which we must “NEVER” forget.

“WHEREAS” there is a long and painful history in these United States of America that “Black Lives” have really never ever “Really” mattered! “WHEREAS” there is “Long & Painful” history throughout our country, including “NEW YORK STATE,” of mistreatment and discrimination towards and against African Americans. WHEREAS this “RECENT” history includes, but truthfully I should say, throughout history, especially since the first “POLICE” Departments were first created, that this mistreatment has been continously going on.

“WHEREAS” police brutality has been a norm throughout this country, since its first beginnings. I find it to be quite “AMAZING” that now Governor Cuomo has brought forth the “New York State Police Reform And Reinvention Collaborative Executive Order 203.” Wow! Why Now? Is It Because of the “Black Lives Matter” and other groups throughout this country have excellently organized and are causing many eyes and hearts to finally be opened up?

“WHEREAS” this most recent history includes a number of incidents involving the police that has resulted in the deaths of unarmed civilians, predominantly African American men and women throughout this country, which has finally undermined the public’s confidence and trust in our “System Of Law Enforcement And Criminal Justice” and such conditions are ongoing and “Urgently” Needs to Be Rectified! “WHEREAS” government has a responsibility to ensure that “ALL” of its citizens are treated equally, fairly, and justly before the law.

“WHEREAS,” recent outpourings of protests and demonstrations, which have been manifested in every area of the state, have illustrated the depth and breadth of the concern; and “WHEREAS” Black Lives Matter to who and for who? That is the major question!

Let us deal with this in a “REAL” serious way. I am “VERY” concerned with what I’m seeing coming forth from our city of Newburgh re: this situation. Why? Because of what I have been viewing on the city’s website re: the “POLICE ADVISORY” meetings, is leaving a very uneasy feeling inside of my heart. Why? First and foremost, because the meetings are not being accurately posted on the city’s website. When one goes to view the meetings they are not posted accurately. On their website they have “City of Newburgh Police Community Relations Review Board” meetings listed on 10/27, 11/12 and 11/17, which should have been listed as “Police Advisory Committee.” Therefore, it’s “VERY” frustrating and confusing. Also, there are not enough people on that committee that have had direct problems with our police department, which means that this is a very needful voice on that committee which is missing. Last, but most definitely not least, judging by what I have seen and listened to so far, the city of Newburgh is not going to accomplish that which needs to be accomplished, which is listed in the “New York State Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative!”

Hopefully, our local NAACP’s involvement will assure that the city of Newburgh will benefit in the way that they should re: this, for if not, our city will suffer some very “Serious” losses. We Need Some “Cry Loud And Spare Not Voices” to get involved for if not “We” will once again be the losers in this city. “Cry Loud & Spare Not!” Say their names! Say their names! Say their names! Whose names ? The names of “All” whom have lost their lives due to “Police Brutality!” It’s time to “Cry Loud And Spare Not!” “It’s time for things to change!” NAACP, we need you to help to bring about that change! Yes! Yes! Yes! The “one voice” that has throughout the years been “crying loud and sparing not” cannot bring about that change by himself!” Also, President Ray Harvey cannot bring this most significant change about by himself either.

Hopefully, my friend Sam, that “CHANGE” which you wrote and sang about “Is Finally Going To Come!” Praise God from which “All” of our blessings flow! “Happy Thanksgiving” to “All” of you!
