Rolison Appoints Jasmin Davis Chamberlain

POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison has announced the hiring of Jasmin Nicole Davis as City Chamberlain.

Davis’ appointment was approved by the Common Council on Monday night.

The City Chamberlain performs numerous tasks, including preparing agenda items for public meetings, taking minutes of those meetings and handling marriage license applications and other vital records.

“The Chamberlain position is such an important one to the public, and I am confident Jasmin Nicole Davis will do an excellent job,” said Mayor Rob Rolison. Jasmin has considerable experience in public relations and is a lifelong City of Poughkeepsie resident.”

“I’m very excited and honored to accept this job and to be a part of the great things happening with the revitalization of the city,” Davis said.

Davis was most recently Assistant Marketing Director for the Poughkeepsie Galleria and is a graduate of Long Island University where she majored in public relations and minored in electronic journalism.

She is a Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce “Forty Under 40” Award Recipient (2020) as well as a Leadership Dutchess Graduate, in addition to participating in numerous other community-related events.

“The City Chamberlain and the Chair of the Council work in tandem, and I’m looking forward to working with Jasmin Davis,” said Common Council Chair Sarah Salem. “Between her experience and energy, she has what it takes to make a great City Chamberlain and I’m pleased to welcome her to City Hall.
