VALHALLA – Last week marked the achievement of a significant milestone: 10,000 people received their COVID-19 vaccination at Westchester Community College’s campus in Valhalla. The Westchester County Department of Health has partnered with WCC to utilize its Physical Education building as a temporary vaccination facility.
Westchester County residents, including WCC students and employees, should call the State COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline at 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829) or go to the NYS website to determine eligibility and find a vaccination location at https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/ Appointments for vaccines are to be made through New York State, not by contacting Westchester Community College.
To protect the health and safety of the community at large, the College has established a process to separate those coming onto campus for the vaccine from students and employees who utilize the campus facilities for college purposes. No one is permitted on campus for a vaccine without an appointment.
“WCC is proud to do what it can in support of the fight against the coronavirus,” said Dr. Belinda Miles, President of Westchester Community College. “Through our ongoing partnership with Westchester County, WCC will continue to serve our community as we overcome the hardships and pain inflicted by this pandemic and re-emerge from the resultant economic struggles experienced by so many of our neighbors.”
